Diodes Incorporated

Diodes Incorporated is a leading global manufacturer and supplierof discrete, analog, mixed signal and logic semiconductors.  Diodes serves the consumer electronics, computing, communications, industrial, andautomotive markets.

Diodes European Big Team Challenge (BTC) consisted of 71 employees at our UK locations in Greenock and Oldham as well as Neuhaus and Munich in Germany.

During the recent lockdown employees were affected in many ways both mentally and physically due to the restrictions in place. Getting involved in the BTC was an effective way of getting employees out in the fresh air and to exercise at the same time.  The competition between the teams provided an opportunity for employees to stay connected and enhance comradery.

BTC staff were a great help in getting Diodes set up for this team challenge and providing Diodes with ongoing support when required.  The Website and the Mobile App was invaluable as it allowed all teams to see each other’s progress whilst making everyone just that little bit more competitive! 

In addition, the teams could share photographs of their journeys i.e. beautiful landscapes or nature.  Some employees also convinced their families to get involved.  It gave many the incentive to get active again and maintain healthy physical and mental health condition.

Diodes has recently started another challenge due to the popularity of BTC.  This one is just for fun, not a competition.  This consists of eight teams of walkers, cyclists, and runners across the fourlocations in Europe.

We are now working with the BTC team to help tailor a walk for Diodes worldwide employees for next year’s competition.
